About Instructor Todd Jones
Todd Ryan Jones was born and raised in Bucks County PA. In 1998 at age 20 he moved to the "City Of Brotherly Love" Philadelphia where he began his formal martial arts training. After dabbling in Tae Kwon Do and kickboxing Todd discovered the Relson Gracie Academy and threw himself into the world of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. During his first few weeks of training Todd overheard the owner of the school talking to a student about a certain apprenticeship wherein a student could work at the academy and in return could train as much as he or she liked. Not one to ignore such an obvious sign, Todd inquired about and was awarded the position. For the next several years Todd mopped the blood sweat and tears off of the mats of the academy, all the while training religiously. Often times he and a small group of die hards would stay and train for hours after most of the other students would go home and he progressed rapidly. Before long Todd entered his first jiu jitsu tournament where he steamrolled through his division, taking first place. He continued competing in various submission fighting tournaments and eventually began competing in MMA. Todd's life has, changed dramatically since then. Now married with children, Todd is no longer concerned about winning or losing a fist fight. What he IS concerned about first and foremost is protecting his family at all costs, and his training has changed accordingly. Aside from the martial arts, Todd is also a professional actor/stuntman. He earned his SAG card with a role in the film "The Trouble With Cali" directed by Paul Sorvino, earned his AFTRA card as a stunt double on the daytime soap opera "All My Children", and earned his AEA card working on the smash hit "The Elaborate Entrance Of Chad Deity" at the prestigious 2nd Stage Theater in NYC. |
